These are usually very popular so here is a trailer break down of new scenes shown in the new doctor who trailer (Click here for trailer). Feel free to comment or if you have spotted something let me know and I will update the post (with credit to you).
There seems to be a lack of clips from episode 4 (rumoured name: Cubed).
7×01 – Asylum of the Daleks
It looks like this is where Rory and Amy end up after they have been kidnapped. We reported Rory being kidnapped and transported to a white room back in April here. As you can see the Dalek fleet is back in full force outside and Rory and Amy are on the main ship. At some point the Doctor discovers/gets kidnapped and joins them in the white room/junction room.
The reason why I call it the junction room is the fact that the Doctor, Amy and Rory are on an elevator which moves up/down to where we can see a large majority of RTD era of daleks. This is where the Doctor starts talking and saying “here I am”. I am assuming the Daleks in charge come out of the main structure seen below and also the human guard.
You can see in the picture on the left the floor is now starting to glow white which is the beginning of the funnel/transport to the planet below opening. I love the fact that it is Amy that says Geronimo. You can see the new daleks mixed with the old again possibly coming from the main structure in the centre.
Poor Rory he never seems to catch a break. The Doctor and Amy go feet first and Rory ends up going down head first. Lets hope the planet below has a soft landing for him. Even though all 3 of our time travelers go down to the planet below together it seems as if the funnel splits them apart to different locations on the planet, due to Amy arriving alone. Could this planet be Skaro? Skaro as we know is a nuclear waste ground but how long has past since we last visited? Is this now a nuclear winter? The man from the previous trailer has found Amy, could be working in a secret bunker where all of the older daleks are located?
At some point during the episode Rory has some sort of communication device or tracker on his arm. Could he be using this to communicate with the Doctor? The Doctor obviously has a battle with the Daleks, maybe even tricking them to shoot at each other? Maybe Rory’s bracelet will be used for them to travel back up the funnel to return to the Tardis on the Dalek ship before planet Skaro explodes. Amy looks like she has been caught in the cross fire, maybe injured from an explosion from the ongoing battle. We know she will survive due to her being in future episodes (unless there is some timey wimey things going on).
7×02 – Dinosaurs on a Spaceship
As you can see from the two pics above. One is the mentioned spaceship and the other is the dinosaurs where the doctor is getting all excited. I am only assuming that the spaceship is the one from episode 2 due to a scene with David Bradley’s Soloman screaming “Attack” and you can see his spaceship flying past this giant structure.
Judging from the pictures and set reports we can assume that Rory’s dad (Mark Williams) discovers something in the cliff face and goes to tell Rory. Rory gets worried and contacts the Doctor. The 3 of them go to investigate but on their way back it looks as if some pterodactyl’s have escaped and chase after the 3 of them. Once they manage to get back in the tomb/cave the robots have awoken and tell the doctor “We are very cross with you”.
It looks as if Riddell (Rupert Grave) and Queen Nefertiti (Riann Steele) are based on the spaceship rather than the cave based on the background area. We can assume Amy joins the gang when they use the tardis to travel to the big spaceship we saw in the previous picture. Plus one of the coolest scenes is the 3 guys riding on a triceratops, again based on the spaceship.
7×03 – A Town called Mercy
Nothign major to report on the clips from this episode. Other than we have Amy and the Doctor fighting about saving someone’s life possibly and the Doctor being more like the oncoming storm than a friend. Again the Doctor takes the opportunity to ride another animal (is this the new hat swapping?). We also learn the Reckoner is a really bad shot. You would think a cyborg would be programmed to be a better shot? It also looks as if Rory will be split from the group, maybe being attacked while Amy and the Doctor are fighting?
7×05 – Unknown title
The New York episode and the final episode of the ponds. We have our one and only picture of River song (set report here). Amy and River are walking through modern day New York but on the right hand side is a statue. Now usually this would not be a big deal but as we can see from the images below that any statue can be a weeping angel (think of the end of the episode Blink – won’t it be cool to hear that voice over again). Poor Rory, again in trouble, this time via a tiny cherub. In our set report we talked about Rory being in a cellar and being taken by an angel. This looks like this scene. What is interesting however is the angel looks as if the angel has been tortured/damaged and has been captured and kept in the cellar (shackle on the right hand side). Who would be silly enough to capture an angel?
